"In the group stage we were linked, but after reaching the semi-finals we were not linked," Perisic said, according to Football Italia.
"But I know Lautaro [Martinez] and Couti [Romero] live for their country and can't wait to play for Argentina.

Perisic is currently playing alongside Romero at Tottenham and spent a few seasons at Inter Milan alongside striker Martinez.
